Gold on Silver Cape Verde 1 Escudos Sea Turtle Tie or Hat Tack

This stunning tie tack was made using a real 1 escudos coin from Cape Verde which is about the size of a US dime and features a sea turtle . First, the coin was layered in pure, .9999 fine bright silver. Then, the figure on this beautiful coin was brought to life by highlighting it (by hand) with rich, pure 24-carat gold. This painstaking work turned the coin into a true work of art which was then hermetically sealed in a clear, hard acrylic coating to protect it against wear. The finished coin was then made into a tie tack. Shipped in a nice jewelry box.
